The Clinical Psychology Consultation was created to help the (pre)adolescent to deal with any biopsychosocial difficulties that may arise in this period of her life.
Although personal identity is acquired throughout the different stages of development of each person, (pre)adolescence undoubtedly occupies a central place in the construction of this identity. The psychosocial challenges associated with (pre)adolescence, this phase of transition from woman to girl, in terms of the transformations that take place with the body, emotions, and even social and family relationships, are moments marked by a great ambiguity of feelings and experiences, which can range from very positive to very negative. The difficulties experienced by some pre-adolescents in accepting and integrating these transformations may lead them to intense anxiety, frustration, irritation, and/or isolation.
Additionally, (pre)adolescents are confronted with their own process of gender identity and sexual orientation construction, an intense process of self-discovery and self-classification. Some of the reasons for seeking clinical psychology consultation at UTERUS are related to the difficulties experienced by (pre)adolescents to discover, integrate, accept and explore their sexual identity.
