Why have a breastfeeding consultation during pregnancy?
The purpose of the consultation is to support pregnant women who wish to breastfeed their children in building their breastfeeding plan, based on the clinical, personal, family and social situation of each woman.
The consultation will be useful to:
- Identify and recognize in yourself signs of breast differentiation and milk production in pregnancy;
- Know the main ways to promote successful breastfeeding;
- Know the signs that the baby is breastfeeding successfully;
- Know and reflect on the main obstacles and challenges to successful breastfeeding;
- Identify and understand how to mobilize the breastfeeding support tools at their disposal;
- Know what to do in case of breast pain or discomfort between or during breastfeeding;
- Know what to do if the baby is not able to breastfeed effectively and receive all the milk he needs, among others.
A breastfeeding consultation during pregnancy can be particularly important if:
- You had a difficult breastfeeding experience before;
- You have undergone breast surgery;
- You have augmented breast sensitivity;
- You are afraid of not having a positive breastfeeding experience;
- You are afraid of not being able to breastfeed.
This consultation can be carried out at UTERUS premises, at home or digitally.
