Clinical Pilates Sessions in Pregnancy

Contrary to what was thought a few years ago, physical activity in pregnancy is a safe and healthy practice, with proven benefits for both mother and baby.
Pilates is a great way to exercise the body during pregnancy, promoting not only the overall health of the pregnant woman, but also a good positioning of her baby.

Among the main benefits of this method during pregnancy we highlight:

  • increased body awareness, which will allow you to re-educate your posture and minimize the impact of postural changes associated with pregnancy
  • the decrease in episodes of discomfort or pain (in the back, sciatica, among others), which happens through the combined work of strength and flexibility of the deep musculature
  • a greater awareness of the location, function, and control of the pelvic floor, an important tool for the different demands this musculature is subject to during pregnancy, childbirth, and the months that follow
  • the discovery of breathing as an ally to communicate with your body, adjusting it to the different challenges and moments of contraction or relaxation
  • greater coordination, selectivity, and fluidity of movements: you will feel stronger and more flexible
  • stimulation of blood circulation, preventing the appearance of edema and varicosities

The UTERUS Pilates sessions can take place in groups or individually and are guided by physiotherapists, with post-graduate training in Pilates. The exercises and the original movements of the method are adapted to the condition of each pregnant woman.

 

FACE-TO-FACE GROUP SESSIONS

Group sessions are exclusive for pregnant women and last 50 minutes. You can do the classes once or twice a week, according to your availability. These sessions are in Portuguese.

The group sessions have a maximum of 6 participants, in order to ensure the necessary quality and supervision. Different accessories are used, such as a pilates ball, softball, elastic band, magic circle, dumbbells, and ankle weights.
Each participant should bring their own towel.

SCHEDULES:
Sessions take place at 10:00 am, 11:00 am, 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm.

INDIVIDUAL SESSIONS
Individual sessions can be held at UTERUS, at home or online (live), at a time to be determined.
If you don’t understand portuguese very well, these are the most suitable sessions for you.
