Lymphatic Drainage Consultation

There are some factors related to pregnancy that can lead to excessive accumulation of fluid in the tissues, the so-called gestational edema, which affects mainly the extremities of the body (hands and feet), making them swell, causing sensations of heaviness and restricted movement. The end of the day is usually the most critical period, and the hot summer temperatures are particularly challenging.

While there is not much we can do to prevent it in pregnancy, there are some effective strategies to keep it under control. One such strategy is manual lymphatic drainage, a safe and very effective resource for reducing the excessive accumulation of fluid from the tissues and bringing more comfort, mobility, and lightness in cases of edema.

It is a very gentle procedure, so that it can be effective in stimulating the release of excess fluid that remains in the tissues just under the skin. It is therefore extremely relaxing for the pregnant woman, with the advantage that it can be performed at any time during the pregnancy. It helps to detoxify the body, stimulate the immune system, and relieve fluid retention.

The consultation lasts approximately 60 minutes and is performed by physical therapists, at UTERUS facilities or at home.
