Obstetric consultation at UTERUS is carried out by a specialist in obstetric and gynaecological health who defends an integrative perspective of health, based on the promotion of global balance and on the physical, mental, emotional and social well-being of women and not just on the prevention and treatment of symptoms and diseases.
Whenever there is a need, it is possible to perform an ultrasound, as well as other diagnostic exams and/or treatments, in the context of the consultation.
Direção Geral de Saúde (DGS) recommends for routine obstetric ultrasounds in a healthy pregnancy:
- Conduct 1st consultation as early as possible and up to 12 weeks of pregnancy (1st trimester of pregnancy);
- Carry out prenatal surveillance consultations after the 1st consultation:
- every 4-6 weeks until 30 weeks;
- every 2-3 weeks between 30 and 36 weeks;
- every 1-2 weeks after 36 weeks until delivery.
All pregnant women, between 36 and 40 weeks, must have access to an appointment at the hospital where the delivery is expected to occur.
In the event of clinical risks associated with the pregnant woman or fetus, or other additional needs identified by the woman or obstetrician, additional medical consultations may be warranted.
Consultations are carried out at UTERUS facilities or online. Online consultations do not allow physical and clinical examinations.
